Wetang’ula Rallies Western Kenya Unity to Secure 2032 Presidential Bid

EREGI, Kenya

National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula on Saturday urged the Western Kenya region to build stronger bargaining power ahead of the 2032 general election by backing President William Ruto’s 2027 re-election bid.

Speaking during a fundraising event at St. Theresa Parish Catholic Church in Kakamega County, Wetang’ula said the region must strategically position itself within the national leadership framework.
He noted that supporting the current administration is a deliberate step to ensure continued development and long-term political relevance.

“To secure our place at the national table and strengthen our bargaining power, we must stand firmly behind President William Ruto’s re-election in 2027,” Wetang’ula said, citing unprecedented state appointments and regional development programmes.

The road to 2032 begins now.

The Speaker called on the 18 sub-tribes of the Abaluhya community to reject divisive politics and close ranks.
He emphasized that the community cannot achieve its political milestones while fragmented, urging the youth to register as voters in large numbers to build a formidable national alternative for 2032.
Wetang’ula is rallying the Western Kenya region to support President William Ruto’s 2027 re-election bid to build stronger bargaining power for a 2032 presidential push, emphasizing unity among all 18 Abaluhya sub-tribes.
Citing development, Wetang’ula highlighted projects including the Mumias and Nzoia sugar factory revivals, SGR extension and over KSh2.4 billion in infrastructure funding for Bukhungu Stadium,Masinde Muliro stadium,markets,national polytechnics,Matulo airstrip,Sichei referral hospital in Bungoma and Kakamega Level 6 Hospital among others.
