A boda boda rider died on the spot on Wednesday night following a collision with a lorry at Matunda area near Barbton in Kiminini, along the busy Kitale–Webuye highway.
Police said the accident involved a motorcycle and a lorry, though the cause of the crash was not immediately established. The rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident briefly disrupted traffic as motorists slowed down at the scene, with authorities moving in to restore normal flow.
Road safety officials urged motorists and riders to exercise caution, particularly along the highway, which has recorded several accidents in recent months.
The body of the deceased was moved to a nearby mortuary as investigations into the crash continued.
