Former DCIO Declares His Candidacy For The Sirisia Parliamentary Seat

BUNGOMA, KenyaMoses Waliaula has declared his intention to contest the Sirisia parliamentary seat in 2027, accusing the current leadership of failing to deliver development and unity in the constituency.

Speaking in Sirisia, Waliaula said the area has “lagged behind for more than 15 years,” blaming what he termed poor leadership and lack of effective lobbying for national resources.

He took aim at incumbent MP John Waluke, describing him as “abusive” and unfit to continue in office. “We will send him to retirement next year,” Waliaula said, urging residents of Namwela and Malakisi/Kulisiru wards to rally behind his bid to “eject an MP who has failed to unite leaders and develop the area.”

Waliaula claimed that despite the MP’s close ties to the presidency, Sirisia has seen little benefit. He cited the recent presidential tour of Bungoma County, saying no tangible development projects were allocated to the constituency.

“Other MPs in Bungoma lobby and bring development. Here, nothing came because the MP does not know how to lobby due to his unfriendly behavior,” he said.

He further accused Waluke of clashing with elected leaders across the constituency and the county. “He has fought with all leaders and does not deserve to lead Sirisia,” Waliaula added.

Waliaula has been in charge Prosecutor several court stations and DCIO Meru South and Deputy Director Security Services .

He was head of investigations Kenyatta University and ran as an independent candidate in the last election.

The Sirisia parliamentary candidate was the deputy chief security officer at Kenyatta University.

He described himself as a professional with strong leadership and oratory skills.

He hails from Kolani in Namwela Ward.

The aspirant also alleged he was attacked last month by individuals he linked to the MP after criticizing stalled development during a funeral in Wapukha in Sirisia.

He said the attackers assaulted him, leaving him with a broken arm.

Waliaula said he reported the incident to police in Bungoma but claimed no arrests have been made.

There was no immediate response from Waluke regarding the allegations.
