Bumula Member of Parliament Jack Wanami Wamboka has declared that he is ready to face any consequences, including a curse from elders, amid ongoing controversy surrounding him.
Speaking to the press at his home, Wamboka claimed that some elders are being manipulated by senior government politicians for political interests and personal gain.
“Let’s give priority to our citizens’ interests and change their lives,” he stated.
He argued that traditional leadership structures should not be used as tools for political agendas.
Wamboka further alleged that the controversy surrounding him is a distraction designed to divert public attention from key issues that should be addressed by National Assembly Speaker Moses Masika Wetang’ula.
Specifically, he pointed to concerns over the implementation of the 30% allocation of national government contracts to locals.
He insisted that leaders must remain focused on fulfilling their mandates and addressing matters affecting citizens, rather than engaging in political distractions.
“I will not sit back and watch while my people are suffering,” he added.
Wamboka was accompanied by West Bukusu Ward MCA Job Mukoyandali, Siboti Ward MCA Kundu Orise and Naitiri-Kabuyefwe DAP-K nominated MCA Allan Nyongesa.
