In a powerful demonstration of compassion and community spirit, Khetias Supermarket has lifted the hopes of 250 needy pupils through a heartfelt education support initiative that continues to inspire families across Bungoma County.
The outreach programme, held at the KMTC Bungoma Grounds, brought together children, parents, teachers and community partners in a shared mission of restoring dignity and confidence in education.
For many of the 250 pupils drawn from different primary schools, the day marked a turning point.
They received school uniforms, bags, exercise books, and shoes—simple yet powerful tools that carry the promise of a brighter future.
Beyond the material support, the initiative delivered something even greater: hope.
The programme also saw unity from the wider community, including support from Manchester United fans, who joined hands in contributing to the noble cause—showing that when people come together, change becomes possible.
Khetias Supermarket went further to create a warm and celebratory atmosphere by providing refreshments.
The company donated its own Kabarnet Water alongside soft drinks, including Kabarnet and Frutyka, ensuring the children felt valued, celebrated and encouraged.
Speaking during the event, a Khetias Supermarket official, Edward Otieno, delivered a message centered on belief, opportunity and the power of education.
“We believe that every child deserves dignity in learning. As Khetias Supermarket, we are committed to standing with communities, especially in supporting vulnerable learners. In addition, we also donated our own Kabarnet Water and soft drinks such as Kabarnet and Frutyka to make the occasion more memorable for the children,” said Otieno.
He emphasized that every child, regardless of background, carries potential that must be nurtured through support, encouragement and access to education.
Parents and teachers expressed deep gratitude, noting that the intervention had lifted a heavy burden from struggling households.
For many families, the support meant children could return to school with confidence and renewed motivation.
Education stakeholders praised the initiative as a reminder that true impact begins with small acts of kindness that transform lives.
They encouraged more organizations to step forward and invest in the future of children.
As the pupils smiled, carried their new school items, and walked away inspired, the message was clear—hope is powerful and when communities come together, no dream is too far to reach.
Khetias Supermarket reaffirmed its commitment to continue such outreach programmes, proving that businesses can be a driving force of positivity, opportunity and lasting change in society.
