Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is expected to address Kenyans on Monday after weeks of political consultations at his Wamunyoro residence in Nyeri County.
The Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader has said he will hold a press conference at about 3pm to explain what emerged from the consultations and outline his political direction ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Gachagua has used the consultations to meet political leaders, grassroots representatives, professionals and other groups as he seeks views on Kenya’s political direction and the next election.

Gachagua plans US trip
Gachagua is also expected to leave Kenya for the United States on Wednesday, August 26.
He announced the planned trip while speaking at a church service in Karatina on Sunday.
Gachagua said the trip would give him time away from local political pressure as he considers important decisions about the future of the Mount Kenya region and his political party.
