Bungoma Traders Call On President Ruto To Fulfill Sh56 Million Market Expansion Pledge

BY NELVINE JUMA
Traders carrying their businesses in Chupkube Market and Bungoma Main Market have called on William Ruto to fulfill the promises he made last year including the release of KSh 56 million meant to expand the Market so that traders can have adequate working space.
Led by the market chairman Bernard Makokha, the traders said it has now been one year since the President made the pledge, yet they have not received the funds.
They warned that the delay could lead to health risks due to poor working conditions.
They also praised President Ruto for the initiative to construct a modern market in Bungoma town, while urging politicians to stop interfering with the leadership affairs of the market.
However, they criticized remarks by Governor Kenneth Lusaka and also called upon National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula to ensure development and that youth benefit from the current government so as to secure a second term.
